My Experience

My love of art began the moment I could hold a crayon and it has continued to be a passion throughout my life.  After high
school, I soon married and then had 2 children while going to school for Elementary Education and Art. Soon after I started
working part -time for Tri-Unity Christian Middle School and at the Home School Building teaching my own art classes for K-12
home schooled children.

As my children grew I was soon able to increase my teaching load and also expand into more areas of art.

I now also enjoy teaching art at Grace Home School Association, PTC, Koinonia in Rockford and my own classes at the Home
School Building.  In addition to teaching I enjoy using my free time (mostly summer) to produce works of art for friends, family
and the public. Some of my artwork can be seen at the James Store Gallery in Waukesha, WI and on this site.

I addition, I also edit and design the newsletter for the Swedish American Heritage Society of West Michigan (
sample in PDF)
and have created web sites such as this one,
PTC and
West Michigan Property Services.

About My Artwork

I have a quote that I created which I like to use with my students as a guide for their artwork,
"Go and create with all your heart just as God created you"! I use this quote wholeheartedly in the artwork that I create. It is my
artistic goal to create pieces of art that draw the viewer in with the wonderment of expressions on peoples’ faces, the detail of a
story, or with textural design elements that draw a viewer to touch. My favorite images to create are usually biblical. The
powerful text, which the Bible holds, gives me continual inspiration to create the emotions I feel into visual enjoyment.

My goal as an artist and a teacher is to always do my best artistically and creatively, with professional conduct and a Christian
spirit.
